Easy Washcloths

I usually make washcloths/potholders/dust clothes once a year. I don't call them dishcloths, because I just can't make myself to use them as such! Poor things, they are so pretty when they come off the hook, and after putting them to work in the sink they are so sad and wet and colorless :(
In my home they are employed as dusters, hot pads and countertop wipes. They like they work and they last for a very long time :)

Here's a simple pattern I've written while watching Batman movie with my DD :)

Lily Sugar'n Cream Solids and Denim
Hooks- 5mm, 5.5 mm
Stitches: hdc, Fpdc, Bpdc

Ch 26
Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook ( beg ch-2 counts as hdc now and throughout this pattern ),
hdc in each ch across  ( 25 hdc )

Row 2: ch 2 and turn, Fpdc in next st, ( Bpdc in next st, Fpdc in next st ) 11 times,
hdc on top of beg ch  (12Fpdc, 11 Bpdc, 2 hdc)

Row 3: ch 2 and turn, Bpdc in next st, ( Fpdc in next st, Bpdc in next st ) 11 times,
hdc on top of beg ch  (12 Bpdc, 11 Fpdc, 2 hdc)

Row 4: ch 2 and turn, Fpdc in next st, ( Bpdc in next st, Fpdc in next st ) 2 times, hdc in each of next 13 sts
Fpdc in next st, ( Bpdc in next st, Fpdc in next st ) 2 times,
hdc on top of beg ch  ( 6Fpdc, 4 Bpdc, 15 hdc )

Row 5: ch 2 and turn, Bpdc in next st, ( Fpdc in next st, Bpdc in next st ) 2 times, hdc in each of next 13 hdc,
hdc on top of beg ch  ( 6 Bpdc, 4 Fpdc, 15 hdc )

Rows 6-13:  repeat rows 4 & 5 - 4 more times
Row 14:  repeat row 4
Row 15:  repeat row 3
Row 16:  repeat row 2, cut yarn, weave in loose ends.

Attention!! sometimes it is easy to get lost with all those post stitches. Sometimes I wonder: "wait a minute, where should I put my next stitch?" You won't get lost if you remember that all post stitches here are going to create neat ridges. So in Rows 2-14 post stitches always go to post stitches and hdc stitches in hdc stitches. And there's always 13 of them ( hdc, I mean ) .

You can easily regulate the size of your washcloths by adding more hdc stitches between the ridges of post stitches and making more rows, accordingly. The bigger, white cloth was made with 5.5 mm hook, the rest-with 5.0 mm.
