Maple leaves

Maybe they look a little like ivy leaves? Anyway, they are super easy and super quick to make. 10 minutes per leaf and only scraps of yarn.

Colorful Maple Leaves
worsted weight yarn
hook 4mm
optionally one split ring stitch markers (I had to use it only for two or three first leaves)

st, sts-stitch, stitches
sp, sps-space, spaces
ch-chain
sl st-slip stitch
sc-single crochet
dc-double crochet
tr-treble crochet
picot-chain 3, sl st in back bump of 3rd ch from hook


Base ring:
ch7, join with sl st to form circle

Round 1
ch1 (doesn't count as sc), 15 sc around, join with sl st in first sc, put marker in st just made, do not turn

Round 2
ch2, dc in next st, ch2, sl st in each of next 2 sts,
*ch3, tr in next st, ch3, sl st in each of next two sts* 3 times
ch2, dc in next st, ch2, sl st in next st

Steam

ch 10, starting in 4th ch from hook sl st in back bump of each ch  across , sl st in marked st (remove marker)

Round 3
2sc in next ch2 sp, sc in next dc, picot, sc in next ch2 sp
3sc in next ch3 sp, sc in next tr, picot, 3sc in next ch3 sp
4sc in next ch3 sp, sc in next tr, picot, 3sc in next ch3 sp
3sc in next ch3 sp, sc in next tr, picot, 3sc in next ch3 sp
2sc in next ch2 sp, sc in next dc, picot, 2sc in next ch2 sp
sl st in last st before steam

Fasten off, weave in loose ends.

Irish Rose, Part 1

This is what my brain and hands compiled after reading through several vintage patterns on the internet.

Irish Rose, 2.5 in diameter

Unknown white crochet thread (I think it's Aunt Lydia N.10 or something similar)
Hook 2.25mm.  I can't work with those tiny steel hooks  :(

Abbreviations:

st, sts-stitch, stitches
ch-chain
sp, sps-space, spaces
sc-single crochet
dc-double crochet
sl st-slip stitch


Base Ring:

ch7, join with sl st to form a ring

Round 1:
ch 1 ( doesn't count as sc), 16 sc around, join wit sl st in firs sc made [16 sc]

Round 2:

Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch3), *skip next sc, dc in next sc, ch 3* around, join with sl in 2nd st of beg ch
[8dc, 8 ch3 sps]

Round 3:

 ch1, in each ch2 sp work: (sc, 5 dc, sc), join with sl st in beg ch1

Round 4:

TURN,*ch4, skip the petal, sl st in st between petals ( pin on the picture shows this place)* around, except on the last repeat: ch4, join with sl st in first ch made [8 ch4 sps behind 8 petals of previous row]

Round 5:

Ch1 and TURN, in each ch4 sp work: (sc, 6dc, sc), join with sl st with beg ch 1

Round 6:

As Round 4

Row 7:

ch1 and TURN, in each ch4 sp work: (sc, 7dc, sc), join with sl st in beg ch, fasten off

And the little rose is done!!

I did a 5 row test run with worsted weight acrylic and 4.25 mm hook. It worked nicely, too:
